This was Hedon’s second game of the season and it showed. For the first quarter of the game Bricknell took control and a one goal lead on fourteen minutes with an opportunist lob over the goalkeeper from mid range. Hedon managed to grab the lead with two goals in the last eight minutes of the half, both from corners, a Liam Bryant header and a shot from Michael Taylor.
The second half brought more fight from Bricknell and within twelve minutes of the restart they were once again in front, taking advantage of lax defending on Hedon’s behalf. Hedon pushed for an equaliser and came close on several occasions before finally Liam Bryant turned the ball into the net with six minutes to go.
Bricknell can feel proud of their efforts today, whilst Hedon will wish they had more match time under their belts before this game.
