Beverley Town 3  Hedon Rangers 3

A game of two halves saw these 2 Myton sides fight out a thrilling draw.

Hedon took the lead as early as the first minute, when Dan Carrick’s sweet volley found the top corner.

George Cooper’s speculative shot from long range gave Hedon a 2 goal lead after his effort was deemed to have crossed line.

A shell-shocked Beverley managed to compose themselves and began to play their way back into the game. A long through ball punished the Hedon defence and was well finished to give the home side a goal. Almost a carbon copy of the first move saw Beverley draw level and all inside 15 minutes!

A great lob then saw Beverley take the lead only for Owen Taylor to equalise for Hedon on the stroke of half time.

If the first half had been about goals then the second half saw chances at either end a real premium. Both sides had opportunities to win the game but in the pick of the chances Beverley hit the post and Owen Taylor fired over for Hedon from close range.

Eureka Boys     4     Hedon Rangers 2

Hedon Rangers left themselves a mountain to climb as they trailed Eureka Boys by 2 goals at the break. The first from a tremendous free kick, the second from an unfortunate Jacob Coulman headed own goal after a succession of corners.

Hedon enjoyed sustained pressure early in the second half which was rewarded when Matt Broadley helped himself to a goal after challenging hard for possession and ultimately scoring from close range. This gave Hedon further encouragement and only 5 minutes after Matt’s goal Will Broadley’s sweet strike from the edge of the box found the bottom corner and a Hedon equaliser.

What many thought would signal the beginnings of a Hedon victory were sadly mistaken when a fine move and cross down the right flank was converted from close range to re-establish Eureka’s lead. With Hedon pushing to find another equaliser, Eureka had the final say with a well struck from the right hand side of goal.

Hedon Rangers 3  Westella & Willerby 2

Two birthday boys; Alex Randerson and Jack Etherington got the best possible presents with a goal each a piece, as they helped Hedon Rangers claim the points in this entertaining fixture with Westella & Willerby B.

Despite having most of the possession Hedon struggled to overcome a well organised and resolute Westella & Willerby B defence throughout the game.

Randerson was first to score as he helped in a cross from the industrious Sam Melton. Westella drew level after they capitalised on a defensive Hedon mix up.

Just after the break Westella took the lead, pouncing as Jack Storey in the Hedon goal, failed to hang on to a corner.

Hedon continued to push and played some neat football, as half chances went begging it appeared that their efforts would be in vain, but Thomas Clark had other ideas when he levelled the scores with a well hit shot to the bottom corner.

The winner for Hedon came when Jack ‘Sniffer’ Etherington was in the right place to tuck the ball in, after a good shot from Matt Broadley was parried by the Westella keeper.
